We had some outstanding racing this weekend! For many it was the first big multisport race of the year!

Xterra Fort Yargo

After two races in the past two weekends, Mark Smith still was able to best his time by nearly 5′ from last year @ Xterra Fort Yargo Triathlon! Nice work!

Chattahoochee Challenge Half Iron Distance

-Nice job to instructor Sara Scott for taking the top AG spot on the podium, and for her 10′ swim PR!
– Great job to George Cone for taking 3rd AG and achieving a (40′!!) PR over last year’s race
– Risa Engel also had a fantastic performance!

Lots of awesome results to report from John Tanner Sprint Triathlon aka “The Olympics.” Just like they do at the race, we’ll start with the Aquabike and Duathlon categories!

-In the Aquabike, Jennie McClellan took 1st Female after a long break from triathlon. Nice first race back!
– Dane Newman took 2nd OA in the Aquabike with a strong bike/swim combo
– Robin Cutshaw also raced the AB and finished 1st in her age group!

-In the Duathlon, Amy Landsverk had a strong debut in her first race in eight years and finished 3rd OA Masters

-Mistye Williamson had a great race after a long break also and finished 3rd OA female!

Now it’s time to talk about the triathlon:

Sushma Umesh completed her very FIRST triathlon and became the first graduate of our Rookie 2 Race program. Nice job, Sushma!

Cori James had a solid race and placed 1st AG. Meg Casper Geshay landed 1st on the masters podium

Cory Nathan Brown had a solid race at his first ever sprint.

Phoenix Calandrella also competed in his FIRST sprint despite having done many longer races before.

Alan Schwartwald had a PR after a break from injury.

Costa Katsadouros also had a very nice PR over last year.

The coaches also jumped in for some racing. Coach Tim achieved 1st Masters and Carrie placed 2nd Female Masters. Coach Bethany Rutledge landed 1st AG as did Coach Kathryn Taylor.
