Sara started running 5k’s after college as a way to socialize with her co-workers, as a result of moving to a new city. After several years and eventual progression to the half marathon distance, she was curious about triathlons and signed up for Chattanooga Waterfront with zero history of swimming or biking. After a couple of clunky seasons on her own, she found the Atlanta Triathlon Club..
Sara is now in her 5th season of coaching with the club, having contributed as an assistant outdoor bike coach and is currently an Indoor Cycling instructor at Energy Lab.
Sara has completed dozens of triathlons, including 4 Full Iron-distances races. She truly enjoys the process of training and the endless opportunity for growth and learning that can come with the sport. She is most proud of her husband, Dusty, who she watched transition from a (reluctant) spectator to a disciplined athlete. She also serves at the club’s Social event coordinator, and will receive her USAT Level 1 Coaching Certification in March 2018.
